The Change Gym is a place where you develop fitness – not physical fitness but change fitness.  This is where you learn how to get good at making change.  We know exactly what you need to do to become change fit, and it can happen for you. But you first need to decide you want to become more change fit, and you need to be prepared to take action.

We will assess your current level of change fitness with a special test we have developed. That will show us what you’re good at, and in which areas you need to improve.  We will give you exercises to help you grow change fitness in all areas and follow you through the process.  We will answer your questions and help you when you need it.

What’s the Difference?

Major change is difficult for just about everyone.  It is hard to break old habits, to let go of long-term beliefs, and shift attitudes.  Yet we often need to do this in order to move ahead in our businesses, careers, relationships, and personal lives.  The unfortunate reality is that, despite best intentions, many do not succeed at long-term change. But some people do.

So what’s the difference?  Why are some people successful at making change and others aren’t?  Why are some organisations adaptable and progressive, while others find change almost impossible?

The difference can be summed up in a simple term: “change fitness”. The more change fitness you have, the more likely you are to succeed.

Lack of Fitness Will Cost You

Many people lack change fitness in key areas and this makes it difficult for them to succeed and move ahead.  This lack of fitness can affect many different areas of your life. Here are just a few examples of how it could affect you:

You’re an employee but you are unable to get the promotion you want and you feel unappreciated and overlooked.  You’ve attended job interviews for other positions, but you never manage to land any of them. You’re beginning to wonder whether the problem is with you, or is it just bad luck?

You’re a manager frustrated with the challenging task of managing a team. You’re tired of dealing with people problems and the endless demands of reporting.  Although you may never admit it to anyone, you’re finding it increasingly difficult to cope and you wish there was a better way.

You’re a business owner facing the frustration of a business that is not performing the way you want. Despite having put in lots hours and resources, you’re still not where you want to be. You just can’t seem to break through and get your business to perform the way you really want.

Many people experience situations like these every day.  They are all examples of change fitness problems.  Lack of change fitness costs people dearly – frustration and stress, missed opportunity, poor performance, and lost income.  The good news is you can do something about it.  The bad news is that these losses will persist and probably get worse unless you develop more change fitness.

The Benefits of Change Fitness

People with change fitness possess resources that make them good at the change process.  Since the change process lies behind all kinds of change situations, people with change fitness are successful at making change in many and varied situations. But if you struggle with the change process, you will struggle with change in all but the simplest of situations.

Do you want the benefits of change fitness in your life?  What would you attempt if you were a lot more change fit than you are right now?  And do you want to work with people who are change fit? Imagine if your entire workforce were great at committing to change, thorough in their preparation, ready to take action, resilient when challenges arise, and great at follow through. What could you achieve if they were like that?  Think about all the problems that would fade away if you didn’t continually have to keep people focused, on track, and ensuring they don’t quit.
